Easter Idea

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Madacy Entertainment. All opinions are 100% mine.

Dga2_4674

One year we ended up going to a community Easter hunt and I will never forget that day. It was the first time I had ever sprained any part of my body. The girl standing behind me pushed me so that she could get a head start on the candy and she ended up sitting on my ankle in a position that twisted my ankle. The funny thing was, I got back up and tried to find some eggs before going back to my mom.

Easter was always such a fun time for me as a child. Every year we would find an Easter basket stuffed with items we wanted. Usually the basket consisted of a book, a cd and other fun stuff. We always found candy in the plastic eggs and then we would begin the hunt to find more hidden around the house. After the sprained ankle incident I preferred to just hunt at home.

Looking for something special to do with your kids for Easter, Sunday, April 4th? Amazon is celebrating by offering a great deal on the Ultimate Countdown Kids Collection: 200 Sing-A-Long Favorites. This album usually costs $11.99 but you can get it for only $3.99. 200 songs is a lot! That could keep your kids entertained for a while.

Review: Flirting With Forever by Gwyn Cready

Cam is writing a book about 17th century painters and she's calling it "fictogrophies".  As an art historian, Cam does know a thing or two about the great artists she is focusing on.  Some would say that she knows a little too much.  What's a girl supposed to do with a newly found time portal?

At first I thought that this would be a tad bit corny - I like corny, so that was why I agreed to review this book.  It wasn't quite what I expected, it was better.  I wonder if Cam will show me this time portal...  It's a really fun read, especially if you're looking for a romance book that is unlike any other.

Blog Tour: Tempt Me If You Can by Janet Chapman

Ben discovers that he has a son whom he has never laid eyes on. He is a good man and wants to repay his once lover, Emma, for all that she has done for their child. Emma is hard headed and doesn't want Ben interrupting their life. When some secrets start to reveal themselves, Ben knows that it is his duty to protect his son and the mother of his child. Emma isn't too thrilled with the idea at first, but she soon learns that there are some things she can't do all on her own.

I wouldn't say that this is one of my favorite books but it was definitely worth reading. I could really relate to Emma which made the book a lot of fun. I don't know how she kept Ben at bay for so long though. I think I have a crush on his character.

Blog Tour: Love In Mid Air by Kim Wright

Elyse meets a man on an airplane and this one single act has changed her forever. She isn't the type of person who does the outrageous, spur of the moment, true love things like most hopeless romantics do. Now, here's the kicker, Elyse is married. She wants to trade her whole boring life for something more. This change in Elyse now has her friends wondering if life has more to offer them as well.

I love it when a woman's eyes are opened and she learns that it's time to start living her life her way and forget what everyone else wants. (It strikes close to home.) I absolutely adore Elyse and I hope to read more about her in the future. Two thumbs up!

Review: The Executor by Jesse Kellerman

After his girlfriend kicked him out, Joseph had to find a new place to stay. After sleeping on several friends couches he decides that it's time to find a place to call home. When he reads a peculiar ad in the newspaper he is taken off guard but also intrigued. The ad says:

CONVERSATIONALIST SOUGHT.
SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY.
PLEASE CALL 617-XXX-XXXX BETWEEN SEVEN A.M. AND TWO P.M.
NO SOLICITORS.

Joseph thinks that it must be a joke but makes the phone call anyway. He meets with the older woman, Alma, who placed the ad and ends up making a friend that understands him even on the deepest of levels. When Alma's nephew comes around, Joseph gets territorial and then the downward spiral begins.

I enjoyed this book but I was kind of disappointed with certain parts of it. The first half was really good but it kind of went downhill from there.

Giveaway: Mommy Power by Sheila Schuller Coleman

Full Description (taken from here):

Many women struggle with being mothers. The great joys of parenting are hindered by harsh self-doubt and a chronic lack of physical and emotional energy. In MOMMY POWER, Sheila Schuller Coleman helps women understand that while they really don't have the power or strength to handle the demands of motherhood alone, they don't have to. Mommy strength, Sheila says, comes from asking God to lend some of His, knowing He will never fail to provide. God will enable anyone who asks to become a powerful mother who loves strong, forgives strong, and models a strong faith.

Review: New From The Inside Out by Kim Vazquez

People tend to think that the grass is always greener on the other side. Life isn't quite that simple. If you really saw into another persons life, you would probably find that they have problems just like you, yet different. You see someone with a brand new house, brand new car and always looking fresh. Then you see another person who lives in a home, car and looks decent. The first person may be dealing with a cheating husband or her husband could be an abuser. The second person may not have material things but they have a great relationship. Which is more important?

I really liked this book because it opened up my eyes a bit. It's in our nature to see what others have and feel like we want that too. The thing is, when you really think about it, what is more important to you? I have to say that I would rather know true love (I'm not just talking about loving a spouse, I'm talking about truly loving anyone, a friend, a child, a dog). Some of my thought patterns were damaging me in ways that I didn't even know possible. Kim helps shed some light on why we think certain things and how to turn them into something positive. I love Kim's spiritually and how she gently brushes each subject so that the reader doesn't feel overwhelmed. Five stars!

Review & Giveaway: God Never Blinks by Regina Brett

Life teaches us lessons even when we don't realize it.  Some of the most important events in our lives teach us and we are forever changed.  The author of this book, Regina Brett, wrote 50 lessons that she learned through her life up until she was 50 years old.

Sometimes we over-think life and in the meantime we forget to actually live it. I really enjoyed Regina's view and the knowledge she intended to share with anyone willing to pick up her book. I learned a lot, without even realizing it.

WANTED: The Autobiography of an Execution by David R. Dow

Synopsis (taken from here):

David R. Dow has had access to a world most of us will never experience. As a lawyer, he has represented over one hundred death-row cases. Many of his clients have died. Most were guilty. Some might have been innocent. The Autobiography of an Execution is his deeply personal story about justice, the death penalty, and a lawyer's life.

His life at paradoxical extremes: Witnessing executions and then coming home to the loving embrace of his wife and young son, who inqure about Dow's day. Waging moral battles on behalf of people who have committed abhorrent crimes. Fighting for life in America's death-penalty capital, within a criminal justice system full of indifferent and ineffectual judges. Racing against time on behalf of clients who have no more time.

Regardless of your views on the death penalty, Dow's writing will take you inside the issue in striking, intimate ways: through the complicated minds of judges, inside prisons and execution-administration chambers, and into his own home, where the toll of working on these gnarled and difficult cases is often paid. Ultimately, he shows us a world where suspense clings to every word and action, where human lives hang in the balance, and where doing the right thing is never as easy as it sounds.

Review: The Mage In Black by Jaye Wells

Whoever said that blood relatives would equal a loving family obviously didn't know Sabina or her grandma.  Could you imagine your grandma being a vampire leader?  Now, could you imagine her wanting to see you dead?  I didn't think so.

Sabina takes a trip to see the other side of her family, the mage side and she can only hope that this get together pans out better than the one with dear old grams.  It seems that the mages want Sabina to be the bait and lure in their rivals, the vamps.  It becomes quite clear that vampires aren't the only ones out for blood.

This book was a lot of fun.  I couldn't put it down.  If you like thrillers with vampires and mages, you should definitely read this book.

Blog Tour: Vampyre Blood by George Earl Parker

A lawyer named Bradley dies after being hit by a car.  His spirit lingers and he ends up meeting Dracula.  The Dracula.  As in vampyre.  It seems the Count is in need of a lawyer and Bradley seems to fallen into his lap.  Brad isn't ready to die just yet but he doesn't like the idea of becoming a vampyre either.  After much thought and Counts reassurance that Brad will not become a vampyre himself, he accepts and drinks eight pints of vampyre blood.  This is when the story gets more bizarre than you could ever imagine.

I will admit that this book is nothing like any book I have ever read before.  Some parts are corny and others are flat out outrageous.  It's a fun romp that readers are sure to remember.

Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing has a little bit of everything. Purchase the golf package for only $214.00 per night or the romance package for $159.00 per night. Each member of your family is sure to find fun and exciting things to do. Take in the beautiful scenery, shopping, theater and more. You can also spend a day at the theme parks or museums. The Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and Hilton Branson Convention Center have a lot to offer people who vacation there. If the boutiques, river walk and other attractions don't appeal to you, you can always visit different events like the Branson Tri-Lakes Building and Home Show. This is an annual event that has been up and running for 14 years. There are also events like David Letterman Stupid Humans & Pet Trick Auditions. The Young Christian's Weekend would be perfect for a church youth group getaway. Personally, I would love to see the concerts. I'm sure most men would get excited about the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament. There really is something for everyone. Doesn't an Ozark Mountain Spring vacation sound wonderful? I would have to stay there for at least a week in order to do all the cool stuff they have there. Who knows, I might even need a couple weeks. I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens. I wonder what my husband will say...

After changing his name to Rahman, he chooses a different path - one that proves his change of heart - he is now a vigilante. Calling

Whenever I hear someone mention calling cards, my first thought always goes to back to when my husband was in the military. He was deployed to Germany and then to Afghanistan. I was always so afraid that he would try to call and not be able to get through. I ended up purchasing a ton of phone cards hoping that I wouldn't miss a call. If you have family members in the service, you know how hard it is to go days or even weeks without a phone call.

In Germany he was able to call me once a day thanks to the international phone cards. My dad was in the Navy when I was a baby and my mom told me how high their phone bill used to be. I can't imagine! After worrying everyday for a loved one and having to worry about huge bills. That was a really rough time in my life. I couldn't watch the news or any war movies. I didn't want to talk to certain people because all they talked about were missing soldiers. It still amazes me. I was so strong during that time and I didn't even realize it. I learned more about myself during that time than I ever imagined possible.

Blog Tour Review & Giveaway: Her Last Chance by Michele Albert

Claudia says goodbye to the police station and hello to Avalon. This career move has Claudia tracking down missing artwork. Vincent, who is an FBI agent, is in a constant race with Claudia to find the pieces first.

As their relationship grows from hate to something a little more alarming, attraction, they are both overwhelmed with the feelings taking shape. Will love conquer all or will their need to win overcome the love they share?

I enjoyed the tension and chemistry between Claudia and Vincent. Some parts were a bit corny but overall this is a great romance story.

Review & Giveaway: Married On Mondays by HoneyB

Three couples do everything together. They own a law firm together and they run a trendy swingers club. Switching partners is no big deal. At least, it wasn't a big deal until the police chief tells one of the women that if she doesn't sleep with him, he will haul her off to jail. There are only two options. Sleep with the officer and keep the business running or say no and risk losing all that they have worked for.

I love HoneyB. She brings her characters to life in ways that no other author can. Even if you know that something is about to happen, she throws in a slight curve ball to keep you on your toes.

Hosting

The freedom you have when using the internet is indescribable. Knowledge about any subject can be found somewhere online. You have the chance to meet new and exciting people without ever having to leave your home. Everyone has a web page these days and it can sometimes be difficult to choose between different hosts. You don't want to go with a company that has poor service. Also, if you are like me, you don't want to bounce from website to website. Keeping up your site can be time consuming and it would be even worse if you kept switching to another provider. This would mean starting from scratch and having to learn a whole new system. Bluehost takes some of that pressure off of you by providing reviews, ratings, news and more. I spend a lot of time online and most of the time I don't have time to go around gathering information about this company and that company. I like being able to go to one site and see what certain companies have to offer compared to other companies. Just think about all of the time you could save and use the left over time to take a nice, hot bath.

Review: Where The Jobs Are Now by Joe Watson

It's hard to make your mark in an ever changing world. It seems like every time I hear something about jobs any more, it's because they are going out of business. It's harder than ever to make your mark and guarantee your position. There are some fields that will never go away because of high demand. There are some careers that will be in demand no matter what the economy brings. These jobs include:

* Health Care
* Biotechnology
* Energy
* Education
* Government
* Security
* Information Technology

It's important to remember that the career you choose now will affect your future. Why not go for something stable?

I really liked the tone of this book. It contained a huge amount of information without sounding like a textbook.

Review & Giveaway: I Am Ozzy by Ozzy Osborne with Chris Ayres Audio Book

Ozzy has always been an independent spirit. He has lived through many things and this all has shaped him to be the person that he is now. For thirty years he was doing drugs, drinking, suicidal overdoses, STDs and was even hit while on a plane. He has made it though so much and is able to get his story out to everyone who is interested.

I like to learn about the lives of celebrity's. I know that they are just people like you and me except they have tons of people watching their every move. I found Ozzy's life interesting and there is no way anyone could say that he's had a dull life.

Review: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls by Jane Austen & Seth Steve Hockensmith

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls is a super funny prequel about a zombie outbreak in the nineteenth century. Elizabeth is the zombie version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She trains to take down the swarm of zombies that would love nothing more than to eat her for dinner. In the midst of disaster, she still finds time to be a young woman with desires.

Such a fun read! If you are a fan of spoofs, you will love this. I had vivid pictures in my mind while reading and it would make a hilarious movie.
