Tainted water for the good of the people. Fluoride and vitamins to sustain the health of the human race. Added ingredients to extend and elevate the quality of life. All good things, right?
Thia Kelly has been changed by the TS901 chemical in the world’s water supply. Now, forced into hiding with the other inflicted outcasts, she struggles to survive as her powers emerge.
Evan Daniels hunted for others like himself, and finding Thia suddenly brought meaning back into his life. Love blossomed between the strange couple while they searched for a way to reverse the effects. Unfortunately, the Government had something else in mind.
Super-soldier creation on a mass scale was their end goal, and thanks to an unfortunate family tie, Evan became Patient #1.
Good-guy? Bad-guy? The world isn’t sure, but Thia is left with only one choice––save the ass of the world’s first Anomaly who just happens to be her boyfriend.

“What are you doing, beautiful? I thought you had to be on patrol this morning?” Evan’s warm whisper tickled Thia’s ear as she woke in his bed.
“I figured they could live without me for at least another hour.” Thia smirked as she stretched out, intertwining their legs in the processes. “Besides, I didn’t want to waste what little time we have together these days.”
Evan’s blue eyes glinted in the candlelight, making him look even sexier as he leaned in to trail kisses along her collarbone. “I know, baby, but it’s for a good cause. The program my father is working on will help the Nary population see us in a whole new light. We’re not the scary monsters they think we are, and if I can help bring that message to the masses, then I’m gonna do it.”
Thia shook her head and rose from the suddenly too-hard mattress, the mood instantly ruined. “Why can’t you see how wrong this could go? If the program is what you say it is, then great! But call me crazy, it’s not like the military is known for keeping things on the up and up as of late. Are you sure you can take them at their word and that they don’t have some ulterior motive in using you?”
Evan collapsed back onto the bed, covering his eyes with the bend of his elbow. “How can they be using me if I volunteered?”
“Stupid,” Thia snapped under her breath then spun to face him again, cocking a hip. “What if something happens here? What if we need you?” She swallowed hard. “What if I need you?”
Evan tossed back the covers and strode to Thia’s side, grabbing her by the shoulders and turning her toward the dented piece of metal that served as his mirror. “You’re the savior here, Thia. Not me. All you have to do is soar to your attainable greatness.”
Thia dropped her head. “You know I can’t do that.”
“You can, but you won’t, and I still don’t understand why.”
Thia shrugged from his grasp and moved toward the thread-bear sofa in the corner of Evan’s little slice of The Hive. Retrieving her satchel, she slammed her hand into its mouth, fumbling past discarded wrappers and lord-knows-what-else until her fingers settled around the small cylinder she was looking for. Yanking the pill bottle out of her bag, she popped the lid off and dumped two round tablets into the palm of her hand. “You know why!” she snapped, flinging her satchel to the floor.
Slamming back her main source of relief, Thia grabbed her clothes from the couch, kicking her legs into her jeans before pulling on her tank-top and jacket. “You know I can’t control it.” She stomped to the sink and twisted the plastic cap off Evan’s water bottle then splashed her face and waited for the pills to take hold. Craning her neck from side to side, she rolled her shoulders and tried to ignore the pain.
Evan’s rough hands gently caressed her arms. “Baby, I promise I won’t let anything happen to you.” He spun her around so they were face-to-face. “You need to trust yourself, Thia. But, if you can’t do that, then at least trust in me. I’ll always be your anchor.”
Thia’s heart pounded heavy in her chest. But whether from the drugs working their way through her system or from the hope Evan’s words elicited inside of her, she wasn’t sure.
